North Caspian project
The North Caspian Production Sharing Agreement (NCPSA) was signed by the Republic of Kazakhstan and an international consortium in November 1997. In 1998, exploration for hydrocarbons began in an area of 5,600 sq. km.

In 2000, the giant Kashagan field was discovered within the framework of the NCPSA.

The Kashagan field is located in the northern part of the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. The boundaries of the field are characterized by an area of about 75 km by 45 km. Geological oil reserves of the field are estimated at 4.5 billion tons of oil.

The need for a phased development of the Kashagan field is due to the ecologically sensitive area of the Caspian Sea, harsh climatic conditions, the technical complexity of the project, and high requirements for production safety.

Karachaganak
The Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field, located in the West Kazakhstan region, is one of the largest oil and gas condensate fields in the world, geological initial reserves of more than 1.7 billion tons of liquid hydrocarbons and more than 1.7 trillion. cub. m. of gas. The field was discovered in 1979, and pilot development of the field began in 1984.

The Karachaganak project is being implemented under the Final Production Sharing Agreement (FPSA) concluded between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK) and the Alliance of Companies represented by British Gas (Shell) with 29.25%, ENI with 29.25%, Chevron 18%, Lukoil with 13.5% and NC KazMunayGas JSC with 10% shares. The agreement was signed on November 18, 1997 for a period of 40 years and entered into force on January 27, 1998. Under the terms of the FPSA, British Gas and Agip are the sole operator of the project.

Dunga field
The Dunga oil and gas field is located in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangistau region. Geological reserves of the field are 106 million tons of oil and over 6 billion cubic meters of gas. The field was discovered in 1966.

The Dunga project is being implemented within the framework of the Production Sharing Agreement of May 1, 1994 (PSA) concluded between Oman Oil Company Limited and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
